Applying the Chicago Manual of Style, an editor will check your manuscript for typographical errors such as misspelling, misuse of punctuation, or wrong word usage, proper grammar usage, including subject-verb agreement, sentence structure, etc., readability, flow, and clarity of language.

*Our “per page” rates are based on the average number of words per page in a fiction book, which is roughly 280. To determine your page count no matter your genre, find your total word count in the Review tab in Microsoft Word and divide that number by 280. Use the resulting number as your quantity and enter below.

What’s included: Applying the Chicago Manual of Style, an editor will check your manuscript for:

Typographical errors such as misspelling, misuse of punctuation, or wrong word usage
Proper grammar usage, including subject-verb agreement, sentence structure, etc.
Readability, flow, and clarity of language

What’s NOT Included: This is intended for manuscripts that have not been previously edited, but for which the author is not interested in input on the content of the book. As such, no input will be given on content such as character development, pacing, plot structure, or organization of information.

Upcharges

All manuscripts may be subject to upcharges at the discretion of the Senior Editor. If a manuscript is found to have an unusually high number of errors or is not being submitted at the proper level of editing (i.e., if a manuscript submitted for Proofreading has not been previously edited or even had Spell Check run on it), then it will be assigned a higher cost. You may purchase the Editing Check service to avoid incurring this upcharge, and the cost will be applied to your subsequent editing purchase.
